The moving story that herders went to assault Prof. Wole Soyinka in his home in Abeokuta isn’t correct. Herders didn’t break into his home. There were no assaults and no endeavors to assault the Nobel Laureate.
What happened was that herders drove their steers to brush in Prof. Soyinka’s unfenced compound again yesterday in spite of his solid admonitions to the herders.
Prof. Soyinka has been living in the backwoods at the edge of Abeokuta in an Area assigned as GRA since the last part of the 1980s. Notwithstanding, lately steers herders have tainted the grounds of Professor Soyinka’s compound by flooding it with cows. The Professor brought the herders and harshly cautioned them to stop the monstrous practice. He advised them in clear terms that it was unsuitable.
Nonetheless, the herders disrupted the norms yesterday believing that Prof. Soyinka was not home. At the point when the Professor confronted them, they escaped into the shrubbery giving up their cows. Prof. Soyinka announced the occurrence to the Police which later captured the herders and their cows.
We can say completely that Prof. Soyinka and his home were not truly assaulted yet his compound was disregarded by stubborn herders who needed to transform his compound into an eating field. Prof. Soyinka and his family stay OK in their Abeokuta home.
